Joyful Hope TLC Scholarship

Joy Music Studio was  granted three scholarships from Joyful Hope TLC: a local, independent enterprise founded by Sarah Yoo to provide consulting, counseling, and advocacy services for senior citizens and students with special needs. These scholarships have been granted to us with the goal of encouraging and supporting individuals to pursue music education, and for the empowerment and growth of young people in our local community.

~ Merit Scholarship (teacher recommendation, director's recommendation, progress, and participation in a performance and a concert this music school year)

~ Financial Assistance Scholarship (financial aid based on income, progress, and participation in a performance and a concert this music school year)

~Family Scholarship (2.5 hours of lessons/week within immediate family members, progress, and participation in a performance and a concert this music school year)

"My name is Dennis, and I’ve been playing the guitar for over 7 years now, the ukulele for about a year, and the piano for about 4 months. My journey began with a small plastic guitar that my parents bought for me from a retail store. I played with this guitar for hours every day. Eventually my father bought me my first real guitar, and signed me up for a lesson at the original Joy Music Studio location. With my talents, I am able to give them back to God by playing at church. In the future, I want to continue playing for God at more church functions, and using my talent to entertain and bring a joy to others."

"My name is Milo, and I'm from Quakertown, PA. I started my musical journey at the age of 6  when I started doing Musical Theatre and taking piano lessons. In addition to piano lessons, I play trombone in my school band, in a jazz band, and I am currently working on "Bassin Street Blues" and "On Broadway."

In the future, I hope to continue studying music in college. I want to be either a band instructor or a theater director. I enjoy being active as I am also a part of a competitive rock climbing team. Thank you to the Joyful Hope TLC for this opportunity."
